13 Trips in Both Directions to Provide Relief From Festival Season Waiting Lists
Udaipur, October 5: In view of the heavy rush of passengers during the festive season, Railways will operate a Khajuraho-Udaipur City special train from October 8 to November 20. The service is expected to benefit rail passengers from Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh by providing additional travel capacity during the festival season.

The special train will make 13 trips in each direction, helping passengers manage their journeys during the peak travel period.
According to North Western Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Amit Sudarshan, trains witness heavy crowds during festivals. The special service is being introduced to provide additional travel options to passengers.
Khajuraho-Udaipur Special Train Schedule
Train No. 04141 Khajuraho-Udaipur City Special will operate from October 8 to November 19, 2026, making 13 trips. It will depart from Khajuraho at 8:00 pm every Monday and Thursday and reach Udaipur City at 5:50 pm the next day.
In the return direction, Train No. 04142 Udaipur City-Khajuraho Special will operate from October 9 to November 20, 2026, also making 13 trips. It will depart from Udaipur City at 10:00 pm every Tuesday and Friday and reach Khajuraho at 8:45 pm the next day.
Connectivity Between Mewar and Bundelkhand
Both Khajuraho and Udaipur are major tourist destinations and attract a large number of visitors from India and abroad during October and November.
The special train will benefit not only people travelling home during the festive season but also tourists travelling between the two destinations. The service will provide a direct rail connection between the Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh and the Mewar region of Rajasthan.
Stations Where the Train Will Halt
During its journey, the special train will connect several important stations in the two states. It will halt at Duriaganj, MCRS Chhatarpur, Khajuraho, Tikamgarh, VGL Jhansi, Gwalior, Dholpur, Agra Cantt, Bayana, Shri Mahavirji, Gangapur City, Sawai Madhopur, Keshorai Patan, Bundi, Chanderiya, Kapasan, Mavli and Rana Pratap Nagar.
10 General Coaches for Budget Travellers
The special train will have a total of 18 coaches. The train has been provided with 10 General Class coaches, offering additional capacity for passengers who prefer unreserved travel and purchase tickets closer to their journey.
The coach composition will be:
- 1 Second AC coach
- 5 Sleeper coaches
- 10 General Class coaches
- 2 Guard coaches
