ACB Trap: Bribe Taken for Tehsildar, E-Mitra Operator Arrested in Ajmer

Jaipur, March 12, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday caught an e-Mitra operator red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹60,000 on behalf of Tehsildar Ganesh Kachhawa and others in Ajmer.

Bribe Taken for Tehsildar

The arrested accused has been identified as Hemraj Khatik, an e-Mitra operator. According to ACB Director General of Police Govind Gupta, the action was carried out by the ACB Intelligence Unit, Ajmer, following a complaint from the victim.

The complainant alleged that his firm had taken land on lease in Jawanpura village of Antali tehsil in Bhilwara district and he approached the e-Mitra operator for registration of the lease deed. During the process, the operator allegedly told him that a meeting with Tehsildar Ganesh Kachhawa would be required.

Later, the operator informed the complainant that the work would be done only after paying a bribe. He allegedly said that the tehsildar had demanded an air conditioner and ₹10,000 per bigha to complete the process.

After verifying the demand through recorded conversations on March 9 and 10, the ACB laid a trap. Acting on the instructions allegedly given by the tehsildar and others, the accused Hemraj Khatik accepted ₹60,000 from the complainant and kept the money in the drawer of his table, from where it was recovered by the ACB team.

The trap operation was conducted under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Mahavir Singh Ranawat, with Inspector Kanchan Bhati of ACB Intelligence Unit, Ajmer leading the operation.

Further interrogation and action are being carried out under the supervision of Additional Director General of Police Smita Srivastava. The ACB has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and further investigation is underway.
