AAP attacks Yogi Govt for allowing Pvt schools to hike fee

New Delhi, April 10 : Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia attacked the Uttar Pradesh Government’s move to allow private schools to increase their fees. Criticising the UP government’s decision, he compared the move with the AAP government in Punjab which did not allow private schools there to hike tuition fees. He also said the decision is insensitive to general public and shows the intent of UP CM Yogi Adityanath led government in the state. “It has been just a few days since AAP came to power in Punjab and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power in UP but it clearly reflects in their decisions who is more concerned about the basic needs of the common man. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann took oath on March 16 and within 10 days he ordered that private schools will not be allowed to hike the fees now whereas in UP, as soon as the election got over BJP-led state government allowed private schools to hike the fees as per school administration’s choice. This is an insensitive decision by the BJP government in the times of unprecedented pandemic when people have lost their jobs and are going through a severe financial crunch,” he started. Adding further to his allegations, the senior AAP leader said the Yogi government is favouring private schools due to its incompetence in strengthening the public schools. “BJP is unable to improve the condition of government schools in Uttar Pradesh. They have ruined the public school education system in the state completely and now they are giving free hand to school administrations to hike the fees,” he said. The UP administration has allowed the private schools to increase their fees from the academic session 2022-23 by 5 per cent keeping the fee structure of academic session 2019-20 as the base.
