New Delhi, March 26: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the schedule for the second phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The remaining 50 matches of the league phase will take place from April 13 to May 24 across 12 different stadiums in India. The new season is set to kick off on March 28, with the schedule for the initial 20 matches already released.
The second phase will feature matches in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Dharamshala, Raipur, and New Chandigarh. As the tournament progresses towards its crucial stages, teams will compete in various stadiums to secure their spots in the playoffs.
The second phase will commence on April 13 with a match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals in Hyderabad, setting the stage for exciting upcoming matches. The first match of this phase will see Sunrisers Hyderabad face off against Rajasthan Royals. Chennai Super Kings will take on Mumbai Indians on April 23 in Mumbai, followed by another match in Chennai on May 2.
There will be 8 ‘double-header’ matches in the second phase, with afternoon games starting at 3:30 PM and evening matches at 7:30 PM. Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals will play four matches each in the afternoon slot, the highest among all teams.
Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants will have three afternoon matches each, while Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru will play two matches each in the same time slot. Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans will each have just one match scheduled during this period.
Punjab Kings will host their home matches in New Chandigarh and Dharamshala, including three matches in Dharamshala during this phase. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals will host their four home matches in Jaipur. Royal Challengers Bengaluru will play three home matches in Bengaluru and two in Raipur. The league phase will conclude on May 24 with a match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals.
