Nita Ambani’s Ram Navami Saree Celebrates Faith and Craft

Mumbai, March 26 (Udaipur Kiran) — On the sacred occasion of Ram Navami, a special saree worn by Mrs. Nita M. Ambani has drawn attention for its deep connection with devotion and heritage.

Nita Ambani

When she received her Honorary Doctorate at KIIT, Odisha, Mrs. Ambani chose to wear an exquisite Ikat saree in earthy tones. The attire paid tribute to Odisha’s rich weaving tradition, as it was crafted within the state by Swadesh weaver Shri Harishankar Meher. The master artisan dedicated two years to create this unique piece.

The saree is woven using the traditional bandha technique and natural dyes, reflecting a blend of design and spirituality. Its body features a Ram Shila-inspired mosaic, with the word “Ram” inscribed in multiple languages, symbolising the universality of faith. The pallu carries sacred mantras in Odia script, seamlessly integrated into classic ikat patterns.

Beyond being a garment, the saree stands as a representation of tradition, storytelling, and cultural depth. It highlights how textiles can embody devotion, heritage, and timeless wisdom.
