Lucknow : Continuing his crusade against corruption, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed that a Deputy Superintendent of Police, accused of taking bribe, be demoted as police inspector.

The then CO City Vidya Kishore Sharma, posted in Rampur, was found guilty of indulging in corrupt activities. Sources say that a video of him accepting bribe had gone viral. The matter was investigated by the DIG. He was transferred soon after the preliminary inquiry confirmed the allegation.
Later, he was suspended from the government and a departmental inquiry was ordered. On Tuesday, it was informed by the official Twitter handle of the Chief Minister that Kishore has been demoted as police inspector.
