This unique number has ‘7’ seven times. This fancy number is 058-7777777. According to Khaleej Times, this number received fierce bidding and was sold for AED 3,200,000 (approximately Rs 7.25 crore).
Auction of 21 Exclusive Mobile Numbers
According to the report, a total of 10 fancy car number plates and 21 exclusive mobile numbers were auctioned to support the Dh1 billion Mothers’ Endowment Campaign launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The 7 series special number saw the most intense competition among bidders.
Bidding Started at Rs 22 Lakh
According to Khaleej Times, the bidding for this unique number started at AED 100,000 (approximately Rs 22 lakh) and picked up pace within seconds. Similarly, other numbers with number 7 also saw strong competition among bidders. Another unique number, 054-5555555, was also sold for a whopping AED 2.875 million.
Sale of Car Number Plates for Rs 65 Crore
The auction raised a total of over AED 38.095 million (approximately Rs 86 crore). The sale of car number plates fetched AED 29 million (approximately Rs 65 crore). In addition, special numbers from telecom companies Etisalat and du fetched AED 4.135 million (approximately Rs 9 crore) and AED 4.935 million (approximately Rs 11 crore) respectively. It may be recalled that last year the Dubai number plate auction made headlines when plate ‘P7’ sold for 55 million AED (approximately Rs 124 crore).
