Two Govt Officials Caught Taking ₹10,000 Bribe in Banswara

Jaipur, March 9, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested two government officials in Banswara for allegedly accepting a ₹10,000 bribe.

Bribe in Banswara

Acting on directions from the ACB headquarters, the ACB Banswara unit conducted a trap operation and caught Milan Bhatt, Assistant Administrative Officer at the Treasury Office Banswara, and Kachru Katara, Senior Assistant at the Tehsil Office Banswara, red-handed while accepting the bribe.

According to the ACB, a complaint was received stating that the complainant had submitted an online application through an e-Mitra centre for someone’s caste certificate and domicile certificate. During the process, Senior Assistant Kachru Katara allegedly claimed that the application carried fake signatures of the Patwari and threatened the complainant with filing a police case. He then demanded a bribe from the complainant.

The ACB conducted verification of the complaint on February 26 and 27, 2026, during which the accused Kachru Katara demanded ₹10,000 as bribe.

Following this, under the supervision of ACB Deputy Inspector General Dr. Rameshwar Singh, a trap operation was carried out by a team led by Additional Superintendent of Police Rishikesh Meena of the ACB Banswara unit.

During the operation, Kachru Katara allegedly accepted ₹10,000 from the complainant and handed it over to his acquaintance Milan Bhatt, Assistant Administrative Officer at the Treasury Office Banswara. Milan Bhatt kept the bribe amount with him, after which the ACB team recovered the cash and arrested both officials on the spot.

The ACB said that interrogation of the accused is underway, and searches are also being conducted at the residences of Kachru Katara and Milan Bhatt.

A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation is in progress.
