Bhopal | May 14, 2025 – As the monsoon approaches, weather activity is intensifying across Madhya Pradesh. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a thunderstorm and rainfall alert for 25 districts, including the capital Bhopal. While parts of western and central MP are likely to witness gusty winds and rain, regions like Jabalpur and Gwalior will continue to experience heatwave-like conditions.

According to IMD senior scientist Dr. Divya E. Surendran, a weather system has become active over the region, leading to unstable atmospheric conditions. The monsoon is expected to reach Madhya Pradesh by June 15, with pre-monsoon showers continuing across many districts until then.
