Udaipur, March 29 (Udaipur Kiran): A legal counselling workshop was organised on the sixth day of the seven-day special camp of the NationalService Scheme (NSS) at BN University.
NSS Coordinator Dr. Jyotiraditya Bhati presented the outline of the programme. Programme Officer Dr. Lokeshwari Rathore welcomed the guests and volunteers, while Dr. Shubhi Dhakad conducted the proceedings. Other programme officers, including Dr. Ajit Singh Solanki, Dr. Deepti Suhalka, Dr. Seema Sharma and Dr. Srishtirajsingh Singh Chundawat, were also present.
The main speakers, Dr. Krishna Kishore Trivedi and Dr. Vinita Vyas, conducted a practical session on counselling skills related to marital disputes. They explained how trained counsellors can help resolve conflicts among newly married couples. The session focused on key aspects of counselling such as active listening, neutrality and confidentiality, along with guidance on what to avoid, including bias and haste.
Students actively participated in the skill-based session and gained valuable insights from the experts.
Special guest Madhu Sareen, a human rights activist, highlighted the importance of human rights. National President of the Human Rights Cell, Surabhi Menaria Dhing, also spoke about the significance of NSS and human rights. Representatives from the National Women Awakening Forum, including Vibha Vyas, Nandani Bakshi, Nirmala Garg, Nikita Sharma and Tina Sharma, were also present.
The workshop played an important role in strengthening legal awareness and counselling skills among students.
