This romantic drama directed by Aanand L Rai has received a tremendous response from audiences. According to Sacnilk reports, the film earned an impressive Rs 16.5 crore on its opening day. With this collection, it has become the second biggest romantic opener of 2025 after ‘Saiyara’.

The story revolves around Shankar (Dhanush), an angry and carefree young man whose world changes when he falls in love with college student Mukti (Kriti Sanon). Romance blossoms, but suddenly Mukti distances herself and decides to marry someone else. This is where the story takes a sharp turn, beginning a series of emotions, pain, and intense drama.
‘Gustakh Ishq’ Falls Flat on Day One
Vijay Varma’s ‘Gustakh Ishq’, which released alongside Dhanush’s film, failed to survive even its first day at the box office. While audience reactions were mixed, the film lagged badly in terms of earnings. The movie collected only Rs 50 lakh on its opening day, which is an extremely low figure considering its budget and star cast. It’s evident that the direct clash with ‘Tere Ishq Mein’ proved heavy for this film. Hopes remain for some improvement in weekend collections.

The film features Vijay Varma alongside Fatima Sana Shaikh, Naseeruddin Shah, and Sharib Hashmi in important roles. Directed by Vibhu Puri, this film marks fashion designer Manish Malhotra’s debut as a producer. The story revolves around Vijay’s character who struggles to save a printing press in old Delhi.
