
Kolkata, July 3 (Udaipur Kiran) — Following three consecutive days of heavy rainfall in Kolkata and other parts of the state, there has been a significant drop in temperature. The Regional Headquarters of the Alipore Meteorological Department reported on Wednesday that Kolkata recorded a minimum temperature of 24.5 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees below normal, and a maximum temperature of 29.4 degrees Celsius, four degrees below normal.

Besides Kolkata, other areas including Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Midnapore, Purulia, and Bankura have also recorded temperatures ranging between 26 to 30 degrees Celsius. In the last 24 hours, Kolkata received 43.9 millimeters of rainfall. The sky remains overcast today, with intermittent rain expected throughout the day.

In North Bengal, areas such as Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong will continue to experience intermittent rain throughout the day. The current weather pattern is expected to persist for the entire week.
