
Bhopal, July 3 (Udaipur Kiran) — Madhya Pradesh has been experiencing a spell of thunderstorms and rain over the past few days. On Tuesday, several districts across the state received rainfall, resulting in a significant drop in daytime temperatures. Rain is also expected today in Guna, Ashoknagar, and seven other districts. The weather will remain changeable across Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Ujjain, and the rest of the state, with some areas receiving rain and others seeing overcast skies.

Senior scientist Dr. Divya E. Surendran from the Meteorological Department explained that a cyclonic circulation is passing through the region along with a trough line. These two active systems are causing the current weather conditions. Over the next few days, many districts are likely to experience heavy rain and thunderstorms. On Tuesday, Bhopal, Dhar, Narmadapuram, Indore, Raisen, Ratlam, Chhindwara, Damoh, Seoni, and Balaghat districts received rainfall, leading to a decrease in daytime temperatures. The hill station Pachmarhi recorded a temperature drop to 23.4 degrees Celsius, while Seoni registered 25.4 degrees Celsius, and Gwalior recorded the highest at 34.7 degrees Celsius.

In major cities, Bhopal recorded a temperature of 29.1 degrees Celsius, Indore 28.2 degrees Celsius, Jabalpur 29 degrees Celsius, and Ujjain 30.5 degrees Celsius. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted that Madhya Pradesh will receive 106% of the normal rainfall in July. The state typically receives an average of 15 inches of rain in July, which accounts for 40% of the total annual rainfall.
