Mumbai, September 9 (Kiran News) — Shares of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) gained nearly 1 percent on Tuesday after the IT services major announced a strategic partnership with CEA, one of the world’s leading research institutions, to accelerate innovation and industrialization of Physical AI solutions.

Physical AI integrates robotics, artificial intelligence, and intelligent systems to enable machines to perceive, interpret, and interact with the physical world. The initiative aims to transform industrial processes through advanced digital technologies.
Under the partnership, TCS and CEA’s French research institute for intelligent digital systems will collaborate on the design, development, and deployment of Physical AI-powered systems for real-world industrial applications. The alliance will combine CEA’s research expertise with TCS’ global scale and domain knowledge to deliver scalable AI-driven solutions across manufacturing, logistics, automation, and other sectors.
The collaboration will also include the development of proofs of concept (POCs), training programs, and technological support for organizations. It will leverage CEA’s pioneering work in areas such as brain-controlled exoskeletons, AI for self-driving vehicles, haptic telepresence, and dexterous robotics, aiming to create machines that can sense, manipulate, and extend human capabilities.
On the BSE, TCS was trading at ₹3,045.35, up by ₹26.05 or 0.86 percent from its previous close of ₹3,019.30. The stock opened at ₹3,034.90 and touched an intraday high of ₹3,059.90 and a low of ₹3,031.05. A total of 91,601 shares were traded during the day.
The Group ‘A’ stock, with a face value of ₹1, has a 52-week high of ₹4,548.00 (September 11, 2024) and a 52-week low of ₹2,992.05 (August 4, 2025). Over the last week, it has traded between ₹3,016.60 and ₹3,142.65.
TCS’ market capitalization currently stands at ₹11,01,906.64 crore. Promoters hold 71.77 percent stake, institutions 23.48 percent, and non-institutional investors 4.75 percent.
