Hyundai Aura Emerges as Top CNG Sedan in September Sales

Mumbai, October 29: The Hyundai Aura has made a significant mark in the CNG sedan segment, with 7,278 units sold in September 2026. This impressive figure positions the Aura as Hyundai’s best-selling CNG car, showcasing a remarkable growth from the 4,979 units sold in the same month last year.
The Aura is available in three CNG variants, starting at an ex-showroom price of ₹7.90 lakh. It offers an impressive mileage of 28 km/kg, making it a popular choice among consumers looking for fuel-efficient vehicles.
In comparison, the Maruti Dzire continues to dominate the CNG sedan market with 12,026 units sold in September, despite facing a 4% decline in annual sales. Other competitors in this segment include the Honda Amaze and Tata Aeris.
Hyundai’s success with the Aura can be attributed to its combination of affordability, efficiency, and features. The car is powered by a 1.2-liter Kappa petrol engine, delivering 83 PS of power and 113.8 Nm of torque. The CNG variant generates 69 PS and 95.2 Nm of torque.
With over 30 safety features, including six airbags and electronic stability control, the Aura is rapidly gaining popularity in the Indian market, solidifying its position as one of Hyundai’s most successful models.
