New Delhi, June 16: Congress MP Tarik Anwar raised concerns on Tuesday regarding various issues, questioning the BJP and central government’s actions. He addressed alleged irregularities in the NEET examination, Rahul Gandhi’s role, the nature of the RSS, and the Uttar Pradesh government’s stance on madrasas.
Supporting the decision to ban Telegram for the NEET exam, Anwar stated that it was a necessary step and expressed hope that the Supreme Court would oversee significant changes in the system.
However, he questioned the government’s preparations for a re-examination of NEET, suggesting that the current measures seemed superficial and aimed at suppressing the issue rather than addressing it. “The way NEET questions have been leaked and the future of students jeopardized, the government’s precautions appear to be mere theatrics,” he remarked. He noted a growing distrust among the public, especially students, who have been organizing rallies, with Rahul Gandhi joining them.
Responding to statements from DMK leaders regarding Rahul Gandhi, Anwar emphasized that Gandhi is the leader of the largest and oldest political party in the country and commands respect across India.
Anwar also supported Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge’s questions about the RSS, stating that it is unique in claiming to be a non-political NGO while consistently engaging in political activities. He highlighted the lack of transparency regarding the funding and expenditures of the RSS over the past century, as it is not registered and thus beyond government scrutiny.
On Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s comments about madrasas, Anwar argued that targeting madrasas was unwarranted. He noted that madrasas provide education to children who do not have access to government schools, and if the government has the capacity, it should open more schools to accommodate all children.
