Udaipur – On September 7, 2024, St. Mary’s Convent Senior Secondary School, New Fathpura, Udaipur, organized an inter-school English debate competition to commemorate its diamond jubilee year. Forty-two students from 21 schools across Udaipur participated in the event. The judges for the competition were Mrs. Neelima Khetaan, Tarana Parveen, and Dr. Suman Singh.
The topic of the debate was “Proficiency in various fields or specialization in one subject: the need of the hour.” Students presented compelling arguments both in favor and against the motion.
Ambika Jain and Agraja Periwal from St. Gregorious C. Sec. School secured the first position. Richa Sharma from Maharana Mewad Public School (for the motion) and Yashee Soni from St. Mary’s Convent School, New Fathpura (against the motion) secured the second position. Aahana Zakaria from Rockwood High School and Safa Parveen from St. Mary’s Convent School, Titardi, secured the third position in the ‘for’ and ‘against’ categories, respectively.
St. Gregorious C. Sec. School was declared the overall champion. The school principal, Sister Jyotsna, presented prizes to the winners and encouraged them to continue their pursuit of excellence.
