
They had come to the resort in expensive cars. On getting a tip off, the SOG held a sudden raid on Thursday night and arrested the seven smugglers. One of the accused Vijay alias Vinod Sindhi resident of Vadodhara is a wanted criminal in Haryana, Gujarat, Chandigarh, Punjab and over 70 cases including murder charges are pending against him, additional SP Siddhant Sharma said. Others arrested are Bhanwarlal Mewara, Ambalal Mewara, Chirag Pancholi, Sunil Tailor from Udaipur, Sunil Kewal resident of Gujarat and Somraj Singh from Jammu Kashmir. Police said these accused transported smuggled liquor to other states through trucks which they drove themselves. The smugglers arrived one after the other at the resort for the business meet who were watched by plainclothed policemen at the reception. After they all gathered and made move to get into their rooms, the SOG team nabbed them and took into their custody.
