Samsung has temporarily stopped shipping the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. With good (and not-so-good) memories of the Galaxy Note fiasco eight years ago, the company is halting production of the headphones while it “urgently evaluates and improves product quality control,” according to a statement from Engadget and Android. The news was first reported by the agency.
Some users who received the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro before its July 24 release reported that their earbuds cracked easily. Considering how often accessories had to be removed and replaced to find the optimal fit, the tear-off material could have led to terrible PR and a costly recall if the company had allowed the release as planned.
Samsung’s website lists August 28 as the new release date. However, it is not clear whether this is a weak point or a new difficult target. Additionally, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro listing on Amazon has been completely withdrawn.
“To ensure that all products meet our quality standards, we have temporarily suspended shipments of Galaxy Buds 3 Pro devices to distribution channels that perform full quality checks before shipping to consumers,” Samsung said in a statement. Samsung Korea previously apologized for the quality control issues and promised a thorough investigation. However, the commentary makes no mention of the delay.
Customers who have already received the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro should contact Samsung or visit a Samsung service center. Android Authority sent an email to pre-order customers confirming the delay and urging them to request a cancellation if necessary.
