Apple Vision Pro Gets New Immersive Video Content Including Films, TV Series

Apple Vision Pro

Unveiled at the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) last year, Apple Vision Pro supports new immersive video content. New collections and movies shot with Apple Immersive Video will be available exclusively to Apple Vision Pro users starting this week, the company announced Thursday. Apple’s immersive video technology combines 8K 3D video recording with a 180-degree field of view and surround sound to deliver an immersive experience. Meanwhile, recent reports suggest that the Cupertino-based tech giant is working on a new version of its AR/VR headset.

Availability of immersive video content from Apple Vision Pro

Apple Vision Pro users in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, France, Germany, Japan and Singapore now have free access to Apple’s new immersive video content through the Apple TV app. Chinese users get similar access through the Migu Video and Tencent Video apps. Particle for direct object

The mixed reality headset is not currently available for purchase in India, and it is currently unclear whether users purchasing in countries such as the US will be able to access the new content through the Apple TV app.

New immersive video content in Apple Vision Pro

New immersive videos available to Apple Vision Pro users include the film “Submerged.” It is the first short film written for the media and is scheduled for release “this fall,” but the company has not announced a specific release date. The film, set during World War II, was written and directed by Academy Award winner Edward Berger.

Apple Vision Pro users can also watch a captivating short film featuring the first NBA-WNBA 3-pointer between Sabrina Ionesco and Stephen Curry during the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis.

Meanwhile, Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd) will also release an unspecified “immersive experience” exclusively for the platform later this year. It can be a music video or a concert performance.

Other new immersive video content in Apple Vision Pro includes Red Bull: Big-Wave Surfing, which allows users to experience the ocean like a surfer. Content also includes new episodes of air travel series Elvated, Boundless and Wild Life. The latter is an immersive wildlife documentary, while the former helps users virtually travel exotic landscapes around the world.
