Udaipur : A booking clerk who had gone to collect the bribe money on his senior’s instruction, was caught red handed by the ACB sleuths on Saturday here at the central bus stand. The clerk Heeralal Lohar was caught with 5600 rupees that the complainant had given him in lieu for not cancelling the allotment of a shop at the bus stand which was on his wife’s name.
Chandra Prakash Kachoria, the finance manager had demanded a bribe of 10 thousand rupees from the complainant Rohit alias Rakesh Menariya. Menariya’s wife Rekha had been allotted one of the kiosk at the bus stand however Kachoria wanted to cancel the allotment and give the kiosk to someone else. After negotiation, Kachoria settled the bribe amount to 8600 rupees and had taken 3000 rupees advance few days back through the same booking clerk.
Saturday being a holiday, Kachoria had gone out of town while the booking clerk was instructed to reach office in the afternoon hours who otherwise, had to report on duty in the evening. Additional SP Sudhir Joshi said the ACB verified the complaint when Rohit gave 3000 rupees to the clerk first time and later on Saturday the trap was laid to nab him. ACB is in search of Kachoria.
