Udaipur : Narayan Seva Sansthan President Prashant Agrawal said that renunciation, devotion, and selfless service are the true paths to attaining salvation while addressing devotees during the ongoing Shiv Katha series organised at the institution on the occasion of the holy month of Shravan.

Continuing the discourse on the Shiv-Sati marriage episode, Agrawal said that after leaving the comforts of royal life and reaching Kailash, Mata Sati never regretted giving up worldly luxuries. For her, the greatest happiness was being with Lord Shiva, the supreme yogi. She embraced his ideals of sacrifice, penance, and simplicity as the guiding principles of her life.
Shiva-Sati Dialogue Highlights Path to Salvation
Narrating the Shiv-Sati dialogue, Agrawal said that Mata Sati asked Lord Shiva what is supreme in creation, how a person can attain freedom from the cycle of birth and death, and what the path to salvation is.
According to Agrawal, Lord Shiva described dharma, yoga, devotion, knowledge, detachment, and service to saints as the foundation of liberation. He said that when a person rises above ego and attachment and adopts service, spiritual practice, and devotion as the basis of life, true self-realisation is achieved.
He added that the teachings of the Shiv Purana are not merely stories but guiding principles that inspire both personal and social welfare. He emphasised that forgetting those who have helped us in any form is an act of ingratitude, while remembering their kindness and supporting those in need reflects true humanity.
Interaction with Beneficiaries Undergoing Rehabilitation
During the discourse, Agrawal also interacted with differently-abled beneficiaries and their family members receiving treatment and rehabilitation at the institution.
He spoke with beneficiaries including Brijesh Kumar from Ayodhya, Azimuddin Sheikh and Radhi Hemrom from West Bengal, Anubhav from Uttar Pradesh, and Monika Kumari from Udaipur. They shared their experiences about the challenges they faced before treatment, the changes brought by receiving artificial limbs, and the renewed hope they gained through rehabilitation services.
Agrawal also sought feedback from their family members regarding the institution’s services and facilities. Several beneficiaries said that after treatment, life had begun returning to normal. They said that where there was once helplessness, they now have confidence, and where there was anxiety, they now see hope for the future.
