Fire Breaks Out in Udaipur Apartment Due to AC Compressor Explosion

Udaipur, November 2: A fire broke out in a tenth-floor apartment in Udaipur’s Navratan Heights after an air conditioning compressor exploded. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, causing panic for a mother and son who were inside the flat. They managed to escape just in time, leaving behind their belongings, which included furniture, clothes, cash, jewelry, and electronics, all of which were reduced to ashes.
According to Chief Fire Officer Babulal Chaudhary, the flat belonged to minerals businessman Dinesh Vanaria. His wife, Heena, and son, Pratik, were present when the compressor exploded around noon, leading to a rapid spread of fire in the room.
A significant risk was averted when the caretaker and nearby residents promptly removed gas cylinders from the adjacent kitchen before the flames could reach them. The explosion and smoke alarmed the apartment complex, prompting three fire engines to rush to the scene. However, the caretaker and neighbors had already begun using the building’s fire safety equipment and water to combat the flames, successfully bringing the fire under control after about 20 minutes. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported in this incident.
