Bengaluru, March 28 (Udaipur Kiran): The wait for IPL 2026 ends today as Royal Challengers Bengaluru take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in the opening match of the season. The match will be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday, starting at 7:30 PM.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be led by Rajat Patidar, while Sunrisers Hyderabad will be captained by Ishan Kishan in the initial matches in the absence of Pat Cummins.
Bengaluru enter the season as defending champions and have retained most of their core squad from last year. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad appear strong on paper once again.
This match also comes after last year’s tragic incident during Bengaluru’s title celebrations, when a stampede outside the stadium resulted in the death of 11 people. This will be the first major match at the venue since that incident.
