New Zealand has announced that Mark Chapman and Rachin Ravindra will not participate in the upcoming five-match ODI series against India. The series is set to begin on November 4, 2026.

Chapman is recovering from a left hamstring injury and requires two more weeks of rehabilitation, while Ravindra faces a shoulder injury that needs more time to heal. Both players were already sidelined during the recent T20I series, which New Zealand lost 3-2.

New Zealand Cricket stated that a recent MRI confirmed Chapman’s injury still requires time, and they decided against taking risks with Ravindra ahead of the series against India later this month.

Tim Seifert, who was initially selected for the last two ODIs, will now be available for the full series. Henry Nicholls will step in for the first three matches while Dean Foxcroft will join the squad for the last two games. Pacer Matt Fisher will also be part of the squad for all five ODIs.

Head coach Rob Walter expressed disappointment over losing Chapman and Ravindra, stating, “Everyone knows what an asset Mark and Rachin are to this side.” He added that both players are working hard to recover and emphasized the importance of prioritizing their health ahead of the Test series.

The first ODI will take place in Auckland, followed by matches in Wellington and Hamilton.
