Jaipur : At the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024, Hindustan Zinc, part of Vedanta, the world’s second-largest integrated zinc producer, announced the groundbreaking plan for the world’s first industrial Zinc Park in Rajasthan. The historic announcement marks a pivotal moment for the state’s industrial future and was graced by the presence of the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, the Honorable Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Mr. Bhajan Lal Sharma, and Vedanta Group Chairman Mr. Anil Agarwal.
Transformational Investment in Rajasthan’s Industrial Landscape
Vedanta Group Chairman Mr. Anil Agarwal emphasized the significance of the Zinc Park in Vedanta’s ₹1 lakh crore investment plan across the zinc, oil & gas, and renewable energy sectors in Rajasthan. This ambitious, non-profit Zinc Park is envisioned as a transformative industrial ecosystem that will foster upstream and downstream industries in metals and manufacturing. Present at the ceremony, Hindustan Zinc Limited Chairperson Priya Agarwal Hebbar and CEO Arun Misra highlighted the importance of this historic initiative.
Strategic Location and Benefits of the Zinc Park
The proposed Zinc Park will be located near Hindustan Zinc’s state-of-the-art facilities, including the world’s largest zinc-lead smelter in Chanderiya, Chittorgarh, and other advanced smelters in Dariba and Debari. The park is expected to generate thousands of jobs while offering world-class infrastructure, developed industrial land, reliable utilities, continuous raw material supply, and competitive costs, ensuring seamless operations for businesses.
The park will operate entirely on renewable energy, reflecting Hindustan Zinc’s commitment to sustainability. It will provide a comprehensive platform for large enterprises, MSMEs, and new entrepreneurs with an initial investment requirement of less than ₹5 crore. The park will cater to industries needing zinc, lead, silver, and related by-products. Additionally, it will create a cost-effective and resource-efficient environment for suppliers, raw material providers, maintenance services, and equipment suppliers.
The Zinc Park will also serve as a hub of innovation, providing access to Hindustan Zinc’s Centers of Excellence and R&D facilities. Supported by Rajasthan’s robust institutional framework, the park will enable businesses to leverage the state’s policy benefits and access domestic and global markets.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Mr. Bhajan Lal Sharma said, “We welcome Vedanta’s initiative to establish the world’s first Zinc Park in Rajasthan. With abundant resources and large-scale investment plans, the entire state machinery stands with entrepreneurs at every step. Bright Future for Rajasthan
Ahead of the summit, Vedanta announced a new ₹1 lakh crore investment in Rajasthan, which will create over 2 lakh jobs and support over 500 downstream industries across various sectors. Hindustan Zinc plans to double its zinc production capacity, expand silver production, and establish India’s first fertilizer plant. Cairn Oil & Gas will boost oil production, and Serentica Renewables will develop 10,000 MW of renewable energy capacity.
