Jodhpur, March 21 – A shocking incident of murder rocked Jodhpur’s Jhalamand locality late Friday night, as a property dealer was brutally killed following a personal dispute. The deceased, identified as Chandan Singh Rathore, was attacked near Moti Market around 12:30 AM. The incident has triggered protests in the area, with local residents gathering outside Kudi police station, demanding the immediate arrest and strict action against the accused.

Murder Stems from Party Dispute Over Forgotten Mobile Phone
According to sources, the dispute that led to the murder stemmed from a small altercation during a party earlier that evening. Chandan Singh had hosted a gathering where the accused were also present. Post the party, Singh left for home in his Scorpio SUV, unknowingly carrying one of the guests’ mobile phones.
Later that night, one of the party attendees called Singh, requesting the return of the phone. Singh reportedly told them he would return it the next morning. Unhappy with the response, the accused allegedly used foul language and provoked an argument. They soon arrived at Singh’s residence and called him outside under the pretense of retrieving the phone. Once Singh stepped out, he was attacked with lethal intent.
Community in Shock as Locals Rally at Police Station
The killing has left the Jhalamand area in deep shock. Hundreds of residents from Meera Nagar, where Chandan Singh lived, marched to Kudi police station overnight, demanding justice. Protesters are seeking strict legal action against the perpetrators, whom they accuse of premeditated murder.
The victim leaves behind two young children, further intensifying public anger. Singh’s younger brother, Bhavani Singh, was also reportedly present during the incident and witnessed the events unfold.
Police sources have confirmed that two suspects have been detained for questioning. Preliminary investigations suggest all involved were known to each other and the murder was a fallout of a minor argument escalated by intoxication and aggression.
Police Assure Swift Justice Amid Public Outrage
Jodhpur Police have urged the public to remain calm and assured that justice will be served. Senior officers stated that a murder case has been registered, and forensic teams have been deployed to gather evidence. A detailed interrogation is underway, and more arrests are likely as the investigation progresses.
