Udaipur, January 27, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): The campus of Pacific University was filled with patriotic spirit as the 77th Republic Day was celebrated with dignity and enthusiasm. The national festival was observed with great reverence, reflecting pride in India’s democratic values and constitutional heritage.

The programme began with the hoisting of the national flag by Group President B P Sharma, Vice-Chancellor Hemant Kothari, and Registrar Sharad Kothari. Following the flag hoisting, a disciplined and impressive parade by students was held, symbolising unity, discipline, and love for the nation. The dignitaries took the salute during the parade.
During the ceremony, teaching and non-teaching staff members were honoured for their outstanding contributions. On the occasion, books published by PIBS, Law College, PIM, and the Science College were also released. In addition, a collective rendition of the national song Vande Mataram was performed to mark 150 years of the song, adding to the patriotic atmosphere.
Extending Republic Day greetings, Rahul Agrawal of the Pacific Group paid tribute to the nation’s martyrs and described the Indian Republic as the world’s strongest democracy.
Addressing the gathering, Group President Prof. B. P. Sharma said that the Indian Constitution is not merely a legal document but the soul of the nation. He urged the youth to actively participate in nation-building through education, research, and innovation. Highlighting India’s rich cultural heritage, he said the responsibility now lies with the younger generation to uphold this legacy through meaningful action. He also encouraged students to embrace entrepreneurship, stating that India’s vast youth population holds immense potential for creating employment opportunities.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Hemant Kothari highlighted the university’s achievements and said that Pacific University has emerged as a symbol of quality education in southern Rajasthan. Stressing the importance of practical learning and innovation, he said students should go beyond textbooks and contribute to society through new ideas and experimentation.
Registrar Sharad Kothari emphasised the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, stating that education forms the foundation of a strong republic. He said that an educated citizenry strengthens families, society, and the nation, enabling progress to new heights.
The ceremony concluded with a renewed sense of national pride and a collective resolve to contribute towards the progress and unity of the country.
