Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has made it clear that soldiers have the right to retaliate any violation of peace and tranquility at the border.
Speaking at 16th BSF Investiture ceremony in New Delhi, the Home Minister said that though India is the nation that propagated the call of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, a neighbour is not mending its ways despite best efforts. He said that the forces are free to give a befitting response of any misadventure and no questions will be asked.
On the occasion, the Home Minister also released a BSF Wives Welfare Association stamp.
He also launched a book named “Happiness and Health: Endeavor towards holistic well being” and “Sipahi ka Safar.” He also launched a BWWA “Prahari Sangini” magazine.
The Home Minister also presented the Police Medal for Gallantry and Police Medal for Meritorious Services to the BSF officials. He said that the commendations and medals signify the deep respect and gratitude for the brave soldiers from a grateful country.
