NDA Leaders Support PM Modis Call for Fuel Conservation

New Delhi, May 12: NDA leaders have expressed their support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to citizens to conserve fuel and refrain from purchasing gold at this time. They emphasized the need to take the Prime Minister’s message seriously amid the ongoing global economic crisis and rising inflation.

Bihar government minister Shravan Kumar stated that excessive use of diesel and petrol significantly contributes to pollution. He noted that the Prime Minister is making a commendable effort to raise awareness among the public. Citizens should adopt measures to reduce fuel consumption and contribute to environmental protection.

Supporting the Prime Minister’s appeal regarding gold purchases, Kumar urged citizens to take it seriously.

In Uttar Pradesh, minister Kailash Singh Rajput praised Prime Minister Modi, calling him one of the world’s great leaders. He affirmed that the Prime Minister’s appeal is entirely appropriate and meaningful, urging citizens to demonstrate restraint and responsibility in these challenging global circumstances.

Telangana BJP state president N. Ramchandra Rao remarked that the Prime Minister has urged citizens to exercise restraint in spending and resource use. He advised farmers to reduce their dependency on fertilizers, limit foreign travel, and avoid unnecessary gold purchases to protect the country’s foreign exchange reserves.

Ramchandra Rao pointed out that while the world is facing an economic crisis, India has maintained better stability compared to other nations.

Responding to criticism from opposition leaders, he stated that it is inappropriate for Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and the Chief Minister of Telangana to criticize the Prime Minister’s appeal. He reminded that in 2007, then-Finance Minister P. Chidambaram also urged people not to buy gold amid fears of an economic crisis.

JD(U) leader Rajiv Ranjan Prasad noted that major global rating agencies have warned of a potential global recession, which could impact employment, jobs, and development. He stressed that the public should mentally prepare for the challenges posed by rising inflation worldwide.

JD(U) MP Rampreet Mandal expressed his wholehearted support for the Prime Minister’s appeal, stating, “As you all know, India’s situation is not isolated. It is a global issue exacerbated by ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. Therefore, I urge citizens to heed the Prime Minister’s call.”
