National Conference on GI & IPR Concludes in Udaipur

Udaipur, March 24, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) — A national conference on Geographical Indications (GI) and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) concluded at Pacific College of Pharmacy, with participation from around 300 students and researchers from across the country.

The conference was organised with the support of the Department of Science and Technology Rajasthan at Pacific Academy of Higher Education and Research University on the theme “Geographical Indications: Preservation of Traditional Knowledge and Promotion of Regional Pharmaceutical Innovation.”

The event witnessed the presence of Prof. Bhagwati Prakash Sharma, Group President of Pacific Group of Institutions, Prof. Hemant Kothari, Chairman of PAHER University, and Prof. P. K. Chaudhary, Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, as patron and organiser.

Dr C. P. Jain, Professor and Dean at Mohanlal Sukhadia University, attended as the chief guest. Keynote speakers included Dr G. Jeyabalan, Principal of Alwar Pharmacy College, Jaipur; Dr R. C. Mishra, Associate Professor at Government Ayurveda College; and Dr Vivek Jain, Assistant Professor at MLSU.

The programme was coordinated by Organising Secretary Dr Gunjan Jadon, while technical sessions were conducted by Dr R. C. Mishra and Dr Vivek Jain.

During the conference, nearly 50 e-posters were presented by participants showcasing their research work. Principal of Pacific Institute of Pharmacy, Dr Ankit Paliwal, congratulated the poster winners.

The event was anchored by Dr Maya Sharma and Dr Preeti Solanki. Experts highlighted the importance of Geographical Indications and Intellectual Property Rights, describing them as crucial for innovation in the pharmaceutical sector.

The conference proved to be informative and inspiring for students and researchers.
