New Delhi, June 16 – Elon Musk’s company, X, banned 229,925 accounts in India between April 26 and May 25. The majority of these accounts were promoting child sexual exploitation and nudity.
The microblogging platform, which is currently undergoing significant changes, also removed 967 accounts for promoting terrorism in the country. In total, X banned 230,892 accounts during this period.

In its monthly report, the microblogging platform stated that it received 17,580 complaints from users in India. Out of these, 76 complaints were appeals against account suspensions, on which the company took action.
The company mentioned, “During this reporting period, we received 31 requests related to general inquiries about accounts.”
The majority of complaints from India were related to avoiding bans (6,881), followed by hateful conduct (3,763), sensitive adult content (3,205), and abuse/harassment (2,815).
Between March 26 and April 25, X had banned 184,241 accounts in the country and also shut down 1,303 accounts for promoting terrorism on its platform.
