The incident occurred in Chhatri village, where a local farmer was clearing his field using a JCB machine. During the digging process, a pair of cobras—believed to have been hibernating underground—was accidentally struck by the machine’s blade. Tragically, the male cobra was instantly killed, while the female cobra sustained severe injuries.
Realizing what had happened, the JCB operator immediately halted work, and the distressed landowner sought help from a snake rescuer, Salman Pathan. Meanwhile, the injured female cobra refused to leave her companion’s body, staying close for nearly an hour with her hood raised, a striking and emotional display of what many believe to be a symbol of the bond between the pair.
