Mahindra and Mahindra have announced the launch of the Mahindra XUV700 AX5 variant in the Indian market. The AX5 Select is available with petrol and diesel engines and prices start at Rs 16.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the SUVs have opened and deliveries are expected to begin soon.
As for the price, the MT petrol variant is priced at Rs 16.89 lakh while the AT petrol variant is priced at Rs 18.49 lakh. The diesel MT is priced at Rs 17.49 lakh, while the AT is priced at Rs 19.09 lakh (ex-showroom). The AX5 S variants are priced at Rs 50,000 more than the AX3, depending on the engine and transmission.
The new Mahindra XUV700 AX5 Select (AX5 S) sits between the AX3 and the AX5 and comes with a few additional features over the former. Offered only in a seven-seat variant, the AX5 S includes features such as a panoramic sunroof, push-button start/stop, 10.25-inch infotainment screens and instrument cluster, Amazon Alexa and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android connectivity. Automatic, six speakers, LED daytime running lights, second row lighting and more.
As mentioned earlier, the new AX5 S variant is available with petrol and diesel engines, 6-speed manual transmission and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. It has a 2.2-liter turbodiesel with 185 horsepower. and 420 Nm (450 Nm with automatic transmission). Gasoline engine – 2.0-liter turbo gasoline engine with 200 hp. and with a torque of 380 Nm.
