Lupin Trades Marginally Higher After USFDA Approval for Armlupeg

Mumbai, December 2 (Udaipur Kiran): Lupin was trading marginally in the green at Rs. 2,087.60 on the BSE, up by 1.25 points or 0.06 per cent from its previous close of Rs. 2,086.35.

The stock opened at Rs. 2,101.80 and touched a high of Rs. 2,101.80 and a low of Rs. 2,073.95 during the session. So far, 14,445 shares have been traded on the counter.

The BSE Group ‘A’ stock, with a face value of Rs. 2, has touched a 52-week high of Rs. 2,403.45 on January 2, 2025, and a 52-week low of Rs. 1,774.00 on April 7, 2025. Over the last one week, the stock has traded between Rs. 2,035.35 and Rs. 2,106.00. The company’s current market capitalisation stands at Rs. 95,285.16 crore.

Promoters hold 46.90 per cent stake in the company, while institutional and non-institutional investors hold 47.06 per cent and 6.06 per cent respectively.

Lupin has secured approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for its Armlupeg (pegfilgrastim-unne) 6 mg/0.6 mL injection for subcutaneous use in a single-dose prefilled syringe, as a biosimilar to Neulasta (pegfilgrastim). The product will be manufactured at Lupin’s biotech facility in Pune, which was inspected by the USFDA prior to the approval.

Armlupeg is indicated to reduce the incidence of infection, as seen in febrile neutropenia, in patients with non-myeloid malignancies receiving myelosuppressive anti-cancer drugs. It is also indicated to increase survival in patients acutely exposed to myelosuppressive doses of radiation.
