Udaipur, Rajasthan – A leopard attack in Uparli Devli village, located in the Kunwaria tehsil of Rajsamand district, has left villagers in a state of fear after a calf was mauled to death inside a livestock enclosure.
According to local sources, the leopard leapt over a five-foot-high boundary wall of the cattle shed during the night and attacked the young calf, killing it on the spot.

Shocking Discovery at Dawn
The horrifying discovery was made early Friday morning by Kishan Lal Kumawat, the owner of the cattle. As he arrived to milk his cow, he found the calf’s body mutilated and partially eaten.
He immediately alerted nearby villagers, and soon a crowd gathered at the site. The attack has sparked growing concerns among the community, especially since such incidents pose a threat to both livestock and human safety.
Villagers Demand Leopard Trap Installation
Following the attack, villagers informed the Forest Department and have demanded immediate intervention, including the installation of a leopard trap in the area to prevent further attacks.
This incident is the latest in a string of wildlife encroachments into human-inhabited areas, raising questions about habitat disruption, food scarcity in forests, and the increasing conflict between humans and wildlife.
