Mumbai, 5 January – Bollywood actress and Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut, who has been away from films for a considerable time due to her political engagements, has returned to the film sets. Recently, she was active in the winter session, targeting Congress and Rahul Gandhi, but now she has resumed her acting career.
Kangana shared a video from the set, expressing her happiness about returning to work. In the video posted on Instagram, she is seen interacting with director Manoj Tapadia, who is explaining scenes to her. Kangana wrote, “Feels good to be back on the film set.”
This marks her second film shoot after ‘Emergency’. The new project is titled ‘India Bhagya Vidhata’. The film was announced around the release of ‘Emergency’, but shooting began almost a year later.
Produced jointly by Babita Ashiwal of Unoia Films and Adi Sharma of Floating Rocks Entertainment, ‘India Bhagya Vidhata’ is directed by Manoj Tapadia, known for films like ‘Madras Cafe’, ‘Chinese Come’, ‘NH10’, and ‘My’. The film is a patriotic story highlighting the bravery of lesser-known heroes. It will focus on themes of courage and heroism. However, the release date has not been disclosed yet.
Kangana’s last release, ‘Emergency’, did not perform well at the box office. The film faced a ban before release but was later allowed with some changes. Kangana directed and produced the film and also portrayed former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Despite her hard work, the film could not meet expectations, with a budget of around ₹60 crore and a collection of approximately ₹20 crore in India.
