Udaipur, March 26, 2025 – Marking International Women’s Day, a special seminar titled “Beti Rashtra Ka Samman” was organized in the premises of the Udaipur District and Sessions Court, where Dr. Manju Baghmar, Minister for Women and Child Development, Government of Rajasthan, emphasized the need for societal change in a male-dominated mindset towards women.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Baghmar said, “In today’s changing environment, society must learn to offer respect and equality to women. The male-dominated perspective needs to evolve to ensure true empowerment.”

Women Lawyers Honoured for Their Contribution
Organized jointly by the Bar Association Udaipur and the Advocate Parishad Udaipur Unit, the event also witnessed the felicitation of senior women advocates practicing at the Udaipur Bar. They were honoured with mementos and traditional shawls in recognition of their contribution to the legal profession.
The seminar was presided over by Commercial Court Judge Mahendra Kumar Dave, with Additional District Judge Damyanti Purohit and Advocate Parishad State Vice President Vandana Udawat as special guests.
Legal Reforms Discussed for Child Welfare Cases
During the session, Judge Mahendra Kumar Dave addressed the need for amendments in child protection laws, especially concerning the functioning of Child Welfare Committees (CWC). He cited the case of a six-year-old girl victimized by a family member, explaining that placing the child in a CWC home often disconnects her from her mother, causing further trauma.
“In such cases, legal reform is necessary to ensure the child’s emotional and familial needs are also respected,” he added.
Voices of Legal Fraternity Echo Support for Women Empowerment
Bar Association President Chandrabhan Singh Shaktawat highlighted that the strength of women has always been evident throughout history, stating, “Women were, are, and will continue to be powerful.”
