Tragic Accident Claims Life of 9-Year-Old in Rajasthan

Udaipur, March 28: A tragic incident unfolded in Mandwa Biola village of Dungarpur district, Rajasthan, on Saturday morning when a nine-year-old boy lost his life while playing on a swing tied to a nearby acacia tree.
According to reports, Nikul, the son of Sohanlal Kalasua, was swinging when he suddenly slipped, causing the rope to get caught around his neck, leaving him hanging. His elder brother, Ankit, who was searching for him, found Nikul in this distressing situation and began to shout for help.
Hearing the commotion, local villagers working in nearby fields rushed to the scene and quickly managed to free the child from the noose. They transported him to Dungarpur District Hospital, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival. Following this, the body was kept in the hospital’s mortuary.
At the time of the incident, Nikul’s mother, Hansa, was in a neighboring village cleaning wheat, while his father, Sohanlal, was away in Gujarat for work. Upon receiving the news, Sohanlal arrived at the hospital’s mortuary on Saturday afternoon. In his report to the police, he described his son’s death as an accident and dismissed any suspicion regarding the circumstances.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Shishupal Singh from Bichiwada police station stated that a post-mortem would be conducted, and further action would follow. He noted that the family had no suspicions about the incident, indicating that it appeared to be a tragic accident during play. However, an investigation will be carried out to uncover the exact cause.
This is not the first instance of children losing their lives during play. Earlier this month, a 12-year-old boy in Lucknow died during a party. Last month, a heartbreaking incident from Ghaziabad involved three sisters who jumped from the ninth floor while attempting to complete a task for an online game.
