Jaipur, April 23 (Udaipur Kiran): A group of seven probationary officers of the 2024 batch of the Indian Forest Service (IFS), Rajasthan cadre, participated in an interaction session with Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma and senior police officials at the Police Headquarters on Thursday.

The session served as an important part of their training and aimed at strengthening coordination between the Forest Department and the Police. During the interaction, DGP Sharma spoke in detail about forest conservation laws, forest-related crimes, new criminal laws and broader law and order challenges.
He emphasised that strong coordination between the two departments is crucial for effective environmental protection and for tackling sensitive issues such as illegal mining, encroachment on forest land and wildlife-related crimes.
Officials were also briefed about the functioning of the police system, strategies to maintain law and order and practical aspects of crime control. The IFS probationers shared their experiences related to forest conservation, biodiversity and environmental challenges, stressing the need for multi-departmental cooperation.
It was highlighted that continuous dialogue and exchange of information between the two services can significantly improve administrative efficiency. Joint action at the ground level can ensure better control over crimes and protection of resources.
DGP Sharma advised the probationers to maintain close coordination with the police in their respective areas for quick and effective resolution of local issues. The IFS officers, led by Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Development) Shikha Mehra, also agreed on the need for collaborative efforts in areas of shared responsibility.
Senior police officials including DG Sanjay Agrawal, Anil Paliwal, ADG V.K. Singh, Bipin Pandey, Hawasingh Ghumaria, S. Sengathir, Rupinder Singh and DIG Kunwar Rashtradeep were present during the session.
