Mumbai, July 23: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan’s son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, has recently made headlines not for his film career but for expressing concern over a social issue. He has spoken out regarding the protests by the Cockroach Public Party (CJP) and the students’ opposition, showing empathy towards the students and their families through social media.
In a post featuring the Indian flag, Ibrahim wrote, “It is deeply saddening to see students and their families caught in such unrest. No one should face fear or uncertainty just for continuing their studies or protesting peacefully and legally. We may have our own opinions, but I hope everyone stays safe, that all voices are heard peacefully, and that this situation is resolved without further harm. I wish strength to all affected during this difficult time and hope for a positive path ahead. Jai Hind.”
In addition to Ibrahim, several other figures from the film industry have also reacted to the issue. Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty shared his thoughts on the ongoing protests at Jantar Mantar via social media. He noted that he once believed such protests occurring in other countries were unrelated to India, but now the images emerging from his own country appear equally serious.
In his Instagram post, Resul wrote, “When the ICE protests happened in Minnesota, we thought it was not our problem. But now look at Jantar Mantar in our own country. The images there look quite similar. My dear Gen Z, you have turned silence into courage and courage into hope. Your protest is like a beating poem.”
Tamil film actress Dushara Vijayan also expressed her support for the students, stating on the social media platform X, “Seeing students standing on the streets deeply disturbs me. Behind every poster is a student who has worked day and night to fulfill their dreams, and it is heartbreaking to see these young individuals facing fear and violence.”
Dushara added, “Regardless of our political beliefs, we should not create a society that stops listening to its students. Their voices are not a threat but a sign that hope is still alive. I wish for the safety and dignity of all students. My heart is with them.”
Numerous Bollywood stars, including Alia Bhatt, Salman Khan, and Sonakshi Sinha, have also come forward in support of the students.
