Bhilwara College Establishment Officer Arrested While Accepting Rs 40,000 Bribe

Jaipur, July 23: Acting on the directions of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Headquarters, the ACB’s Bhilwara-II unit arrested an Establishment Officer of Manikyalal Verma Government College, Bhilwara, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 from a complainant.

Bribe Allegedly Sought to Continue Firm’s Contract

Additional Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Smita Srivastava, said the ACB Bhilwara-II unit had received a complaint stating that the complainant’s firm had been awarded a tender by Manikyalal Verma Government College, Bhilwara, for providing security guards, computer operators, and sanitation staff. The firm had deployed the required manpower at the college.

According to the complaint, the college principal had issued a letter to cancel the firm’s contract after a security guard was found absent from duty at the college on a Sunday. It was alleged that Establishment Officer Shiv Nuwal demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 from the complainant in return for not cancelling the contract and allowing it to continue smoothly.

ACB Trap Leads to Arrest

Under the supervision of Ajmer Range Deputy Inspector General of Police Narayan Singh Togas, Deputy Superintendent of Police Narpat Singh Charan of the ACB Bhilwara-II unit carried out a trap operation on July 23, 2026.

During the operation, the ACB arrested accused Shiv Nuwal while he was allegedly accepting Rs 40,000 as bribe from the complainant.

Investigation Underway

The ACB said that further questioning and legal proceedings against the accused are being conducted under the supervision of Additional Director General Smita Srivastava and Inspector General of Police S. Parimala.

The bureau will register a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and carry out further investigation.
