IAF and Army Chiefs to Fly Tejas Together in a Historic First

In a landmark moment for India’s defense forces, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh and Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi will fly together in the indigenous Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) today in Bengaluru, India’s Silicon Valley. This marks the first time in history that the chiefs of two military branches will take to the skies together in a single-engine, homegrown fighter jet.

A Historic Flight in the Tejas LCA

The two military leaders will take off from the Yelahanka Air Base in Bengaluru, flying in the two-seater trainer version of the Tejas LCA for approximately 45 minutes. This historic event underscores the strong inter-services coordination between the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Indian Army.

Aero India 2024: Showcasing India’s Defense Strength

The flight comes just a day before the Aero India Show 2024, which officially begins on February 10 and will continue for five days. By flying in the Tejas LCA, the two military chiefs are expected to send a powerful message of national self-reliance and defense collaboration.
