Honor has announced the release of the latest software update for the Honor 200 series. Launching on July 18 on the Honor 200 and 200 Pro smartphones, it integrates a large language model (LLM) called MagicLM with Magic Capsule, Magic Portal and other artificial intelligence (AI) features released in India. This update adds call recording functionality to both phones. According to the company, this is “in high demand.” Other features of the software update for the Honor 200 series include camera, performance, stability and security improvements.
Honor 200 series updates
The Honor 200 series smartphone runs Magic 8.0 operating system based on Android 14. According to the changes, this update brings the smartphone’s software version to N39I 8.0.0.135. This is the first over-the-air (OTA) app for Indian users. One of the additions is the new call recording feature. Additionally, Depth Effects adjustment has been added to the Gallery, allowing users to adjust the effects of photos taken in Portrait mode to change the overall visual experience of the image.
Additionally, a new feature called Ultra Group Photo has been introduced in portrait mode when using the rear camera. It can correct closed eyes in group photos to make them look more attractive, according to a Chinese smartphone maker. The update is also intended to improve shooting performance in certain cases.
According to Honor, the latest software update also includes the August security patch for the Android Security Bulletin Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE).
It also includes other improvements such as performance optimizations, improved system compatibility with third-party applications, and general system-wide improvements. To download the update, Honor 200 series users can go to Settings, System and Updates and find the software update. Tap “Check for Updates” to download the latest updates.
