These 26 teams belong from prestigious coal companies such as Coal Subsidiaries M/s Bahart Coking Coal Limited, M/s central Coalfields Limited,M/s Eastern Caolfields Limited. M/s Mahanadi Coalfields Limited, M/s Western Coalfields Limited, M/s Southeastern Coalfields Limited etc. From metal companies, teams such as M/s Hindustan Copper Limited, M/s Manganese Ore India Limited,M/s Hindustan Zinc Limited,M/s Uranium Corporation of India etc. are participating in these competitions.
Talking about this event, Mr Arun Misra, CEO, Hindustan Zinc, said “We are thrilled to host the country’s one of the biggest underground mining event with Directorate General of Mines Safety which will witness participation from the crème de la crème of the mining fraternity. Mine rescue is an important & most critical task of any mining operation. One can determine the success of any rescue & recovery operation through the level of preparedness of the mine rescue teams. The competition will become a source of great learning for all the 18 companies participating and provide new avenues for mine safety.”
The judges from DGMS will be evaluating the performances of all the teams during the competition under the guidance of Chief Judge Shri B. P. Singh, Director of Mines SafetyWZ, Nagpur, Shri Shyam Mishra, Director of Mines Safety (DMRS), HQ, Dhanbad, Shri Aftab Ahmed, Director of Mines Safety, Ranchi SEZ, Sri Sagesh Kumar M.R., Director of Mines Safety, CZ, Dhanbad and Shri Krishnendu Manadal, Director of Mines Safety, Bhuvaneshwar. Also, Shri Dayasagar, Director of Mines Safety, N-W Zone, Udaipur will also be present during the event.
In mines rescue competitions, participants are tested in terms of their knowledge and skills related to emergency situations and team members are required to solve a hypothetical problem within a specific timeline and under the observation of judges.
