
Jaipur : Heavy rainfall is expected to continue in Rajasthan for the next two days. A red alert has been issued for five districts today, while an orange alert is in place for five other districts. Rainfall in these areas could reach between 150 to 200 mm. Additionally, a yellow alert has been issued for nine other districts.
Due to the weather warnings, schools in Jaipur, Karauli, Dausa, Tonk, and Kota have been declared closed today. Meanwhile, BJP leader and MLA Dr. Kirorilal Meena assessed the situation after the heavy rains on Tuesday.
In Karauli district, three young men were swept away in the Mawai stream near Amarapur on Monday. One of them managed to swim to safety, but the other two are still missing. Over the past two days, more than 26 people have lost their lives in Rajasthan due to heavy rainfall.
The last 48 hours have seen significant rainfall, with three districts being the most affected, including the capital, Jaipur. Although the rain has slowed down in Jaipur since Tuesday morning, many areas are still waterlogged. In Karauli district, several villages remain cut off. Over 26 people have lost their lives in Jaipur and four other districts due to the heavy rain over the past two days.
In the last 24 hours, the highest rainfall was recorded in Dooni, Tonk, with 170 mm. Other significant rainfall measurements include 110 mm at Moti Sagar in Deoli, Tonk; 107 mm in Niwai; 132 mm at Mansi Dam; 73 mm in Uniara; and 161 mm in Nainwa, Bundi. Sanganer in Jaipur recorded 99 mm, Madhorajpura 97 mm, Tunga 85 mm, Palsana in Sikar 49 mm, Panchna Dam in Karauli 85 mm, Lalsot in Dausa 52 mm, Alwar 70 mm, and Malakhera 75 mm.
