Gandhinagar, June 18: A grand event was held in GIFT City, Gandhinagar, in collaboration with the Gujarat State Yoga Board to celebrate International Yoga Day, where over 1,500 participants, including representatives from the corporate sector, employees, and local residents, enthusiastically took part.
The event featured the presence of several dignitaries, including the “Life Once More” team and actor Mayur Vakani, who emphasized the importance of yoga and a healthy lifestyle, encouraging people to practice yoga regularly.
Chairman of the Gujarat Yoga Board, Shishupal, noted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 12 years of service, good governance, and public welfare have been completed, and the Gujarat State Yoga Board is continuously organizing yoga programs in this direction. The initiative “Yoga for Corporates” aims to connect business people, industrialists, employees, and officials with yoga.
He stated that when individuals in the corporate sector adopt yoga, it positively impacts not only their health but also the country’s economic progress. According to him, this leads to increased efficiency, improved productivity, and growth in the nation’s turnover and GDP. He described yoga as not just a physical exercise but a complete medical science that enhances bodily strength and strengthens the immune system. He urged all citizens to incorporate yoga into their daily lives for their physical, mental, and spiritual development, helping India move towards becoming a “Vishwaguru.”
Sanjay Kumar, Managing Director of GIFT City, mentioned that this yoga program was organized with the support of the Gujarat Yoga Board and the Gujarat government, aiming to connect people working here with yoga. He noted that thousands of employees showed interest and actively participated, reflecting the success of this initiative. Positive feedback from participants has led to plans for regular yoga classes in GIFT City, to be conducted in collaboration with the Gujarat Yoga Board.
Actor Mayur Vakani also shared his experiences at the event, expressing that participating in the yoga session made him feel extremely positive and energized. He praised the training provided by the yoga instructors and highlighted the inspiring message about the importance of yoga conveyed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi across the country.
He emphasized that yoga is indeed the foundation of life and is essential for living a healthy life. According to him, if one desires a disease-free life, yoga must be integrated into their daily routine. He noted a unique energy and positivity experienced throughout the session, which excited all participants.
Vakani further stated that this initiative symbolizes a new consciousness, where people suggested that such yoga sessions should be held weekly. He described it as a new social movement connecting people towards health and awareness. He added that yoga not only improves health but also paves the way for prosperity and success. Referring to the Prime Minister’s vision of “Developed India 2047,” he mentioned that this goal can be achieved through yoga and a healthy lifestyle.
