GoPro has launched the new Hero 12 Black action camera in India. It includes several improvements over its predecessor, the Hero 11 Black, including longer battery life and improved stability. Please check the details.
GoPro Hero 12 Black: specifications and features
Hero 12 Black is similar to its predecessor, but with many changes. HDR is now supported in 5.3K and 4K. This camera features a GP2 processor and a 27.13 megapixel camera sensor for photography. You can also get 24.69MP stills from your videos. This sensor has a larger image and can record in both horizontal and vertical formats, depending on where the footage is used. Like the Hero 11 Black, this camera can record 5.3K video at 60 frames per second and 4K video at 120 frames per second. 8:7 aspect ratio is also supported.
The action camera has a HyperSmooth 6.0 video stabilization feature that offers the “widest” frame while still ensuring stable video. It also has built-in horizon lock to maintain the horizon line even when the camera rotates 360 degrees.

It also supports up to 8x slow motion video at 240fps and 2.7K resolution. Supports 10-bit color and GP Log + LUTS. Waterproof to a depth of 33 feet, the Hero 12 Black features a waterproof lens coating for clear underwater footage.
As mentioned earlier, when shooting at 5.3K you get better battery life and twice the runtime of the Hero 11 Black. This camera has a cold battery. There’s a dual LCD display, support for AirPods or other Bluetooth headphones for audio recording, and a new TimeCode sync feature for syncing multiple Hero 12 Blacks.
In addition, the GoPro Hero 12 Black features the new Max Lens 2.0 for a field of view of up to 177 degrees in 4K and aspect ratios of 16:9 and 9:16. Additional accessories include an extension pole and a waterproof roller shutter remote control. In-camera tools and night effects such as star trails, light paintings, and vehicle tracks are supported. Editing is done through the Quik app and includes cloud backup.
price and availability
The GoPro Hero 12 Black costs Rs 45,000 and the Creators Edition (which includes Media Mods, Light Mods and Volta grips) costs Rs 65,000. It will be available in major offline and online stores starting September 13th. Max Lens Mod 2.0 will be available in November.
