Panaji, March 16 : Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday welcomed the judgement of the Karnataka High Court on the hijab controversy. In a tweet, the Chief Minister said the verdict will give the right to educational institutes to prescribe the dress code and is an important step towards bringing equality. “I welcome the judgement of the Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka verdict over Hijab row. It has upheld that the Constitution is supreme,” he tweeted. Upholding the February 5 circular pertaining to dress code issued by the Karnataka government, a full bench of the Karnataka High Court had dismissed all pro-hijab petitions on Tuesday. AKM ACL1146
