New Delhi, July 19: A sudden fire broke out early Sunday morning at a tent warehouse in the Fatehpur Beri area of Delhi. Fire department teams arrived promptly at the scene after receiving the alert. After several hours of hard work, the fire was brought under control, and cooling operations are currently ongoing.
Fire Officer Rajesh Kumar Shukla stated that the fire occurred at an event management and tent storage facility located in the Har Swaroop Colony of Fatehpur Beri. The fire department received the call around 6:42 AM, and rescue operations began immediately. The fire was contained within approximately one hour, but cooling efforts are still in progress to ensure the situation is fully normalized.
Shukla mentioned that the fire was classified as a make-four incident. The warehouse housed tent-related materials, which posed a risk of rapid fire spread. To prevent the fire from spreading to nearby areas, additional fire engines were summoned to the site.
The narrow lanes in the area presented significant challenges for the firefighters. They faced difficulties in bringing larger vehicles closer to the warehouse, necessitating the laying of a 400-meter-long hose line from the main road to supply water. An intervention junction was created in between to facilitate the water supply.
A total of 15 fire engines were deployed at the scene, and the fire was successfully controlled in a timely manner. The cooling operation, which is part of the firefighting process, is still ongoing.
As of now, there have been no reports of anyone being trapped or any casualties.
